SUMMARY
Brii Bio is seeking a skilled biologist for our growing drug discovery team. The individual will be working in our state-of-the-art wet laboratory space in the Global Health Drug Discovery Institute facilities in Beijing, China. The successful candidate will conduct experimental biology studies in all phases of exploratory and discovery biology and manage laboratory routines. The position will require skill sets including cell-free biochemical assays, cell-line studies as well as primary cell biology. This role will be part of an experienced discovery team and offers the opportunity to develop new skills and obtain experience and expertise as part of a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical research team. The individual will facilitate to identify and develop assays and methods to characterize novel biology as well as new drug candidates. The successful candidate will have a fair understanding of biochemistry, cell and molecular biology. This role will require working closely with a global discovery team to incorporate new technologies to facilitate the progression of novel clinical candidates that allow for maximal therapeutic impact and differentiation for patients. Primary responsibilities will be laboratory based activities to execute experimental studies, generate data and report results to a broad program team. The candidate must have good organizational, writing and communication abilities to communicate results and ideas to other team members including non-scientists.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform in vitro and ex vivo cell-based studies to conduct lead identification and drug candidate profiling and characterization.
- Facilitate the characterization of disease biology, for the development of novel scientific platform technologies with high translational relevance
- Manage laboratory routines and assist research activities
- Execute experimental studies and ensure all data and results are carefully documented in Brii electronic lab notebook systems
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports for project teams
- Prepare, and deliver scientific presentations for internal/external use
- Collaborate with external CRO teams
- Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and apply to the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments
- Work cross-functionally in complex and fast-paced research organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD, Master or equivalent in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology or a related discipline with 0-3 years of post-degree experience, preferably in industry.
- Knowledge with hands-on experience (preferred) in several key areas including biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology.
- Understanding of advancing platform technology areas including CRISPR/Cas9, gene editing, RNAi, vector delivery methods, antibody drug conjugates, mRNA vaccine and bioinformatics systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
- Solid track record of completing challenging technical problems, exemplified by publication of research in high-quality scientific journals.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to work efficiently and productively in a dynamic, scientifically rigorous, and fast-paced environment.
